The drilled holes in the Tailbone are sized as pilot holes, just big enough to allow the screw to go in but small enough to give good grip on the threads.
The user drilled holes in the deck are sized as through holes, these are big enough to allow the screw to fit easily in the hole and allow the head to snug up nicely to the surface of the deck when tightened. It is important that the user drilled through holes in the deck are the correct size.

Powell makes some of the best skate gear. But, I have another model that they make that has a different screw setup and will probably last longer. Anyway, thanks again CCS.

The Powell Peralta stuff is always good. Nice that they actually come with screws. Why doesn't everybody do that? Easy to install, just take your time and bend the rails to your board shape. “Skid Plates†are essential in my book, especially with a little shredder daughter who constantly wants to “scrape†when she carves! May be a bit old-school but it saves your board!
