Welcome to The Day. Not to be confused with "A" Day. The Day is not just any old day. The Day is a day that's inspired by some of the most heroic uses of 24 hours in skateboarding history. The Day takes a page from the book of Chad Muska, and Jamie Thomas and all the others who woke up early and stayed up late in pursuit of getting the most they could out of their bodies and their skateboards before they went to bed. The Day is about packing as much skating in to your 360-degree earth spin as your circumstances will allow you. Rain or shine, healthy or sick, the day just goes on, and so do we.

Everyone got sunburned, but everyone got clips, so is it really that bad of a trade off?

For our first installment of The Day, we met up with some of the Welcome Skateboards team in sunny Arizona in the dead heat of summer. Mid-July in Phoenix to be exact. We really wanted to put our day to the test so we did it in a place where you couldn't pay people to skate for more than an hour. We started at 9 am and made it until about 7pm in temperatures that surpassed 110 degrees. Gallons of water and sports drink were consumed and shirts were sweated through over and over again. Everyone got sunburned, but everyone got clips, so is it really that bad of a trade off? Enjoy these photos and video footage of what happened during The Day and check back next issue to see who will be tackling The Day next and where we end up!
