Amazing board for beginners

First of all I just started longboarding. I have never longboarded before, and so I got this board as a beginner's board. I had tried out both flexes in a local shop (Daddies Board Shop, in Portland, Oregon) and I liked the flexyness of the Flex 2. The flex 1 is just a little harder and takes more weight to bend the board. When riding it, the board absorbed the vibrations from the ground well to where it was a very smooth ride on rough pavement. I also had some shock pads installed with the trucks on the board, they went in between the contact of the board with the trucks. When first starting to ride, I flew off, but minutes later I was riding really well. I don't know how other boards would compare but the board got me to ride comfortably really fast and I started to pick up the speed exponentially. Since the board is very flexy, it got me to easily turn corners sharply, and you really have to shift your weight to not fall off the board. Overall I was really happy that I got this board as a beginner's board because of how fast and easy it was to ride. The flex of the board is really good for carving because of how easy it is to lean on one side of the board. Obviously the overall ride is not all in the board, I as well had good trucks and other hardware to accommodate the board which provided the good ride. My setup was Bear Kodiak trucks, Bones Swiss Ceramic Bearings, Orangatang Kegel wheels (80a, orange), and the flex 2 Loaded Icarus Board. Also, Orangatang nipple bushings (orange), and some shock pads to absorb the vibrations. I recommend this board to any rider, especially for beginners. 10/10 would buy again if I were looking for a board.

Returning skater - New to longboards

Complete Icarus just arrived over the weekend and I was finally able to take it around the neighborhood earlier today then to the barbershop. I couldn't be more satisfied. The coast from one push goes shockingly far and the carving is terrific which instills confidence. I went with Atlas 180mm trucks and Bones Swiss ceramic bearings and Orangutang Kegels 80a. After this set up is broken in more, I will be very interested in how it rides from day to day wear in. I will keep the trucks as is for a while so I can have a solid frame of reference for when I do decide to finally flip the hangers of the trucks to see the difference in the ride. So happy.
