Lakai: The Flare Video Premiere

Since it started, Lakai has constantly given amazing things to skateboarding. Between great shoes and epic videos, we’re always expecting a lot from them. With a whole bunch of new faces, the newest Lakai full length proved that they're still crushing it as hard as ever. With some amazing parts from Sebo Walker, Jon Sciano, Stevie Perez, Riley Hawk, and the rest of the crew along with a great soundtrack - this will be a video you watch more than once. We snapped away before and after the video to show you guys what the night looked like.

Always classy, the Lakai boys rented out the Egyptian theatre in Hollywood for the big night.

We bumped into the Transworld boys for a drink before the mayhem started. Left to right is Mackenzie Eisenhour, Blair Alley, and Mike Fitzgerald.

You can always count on the Australian bros to grab a quick pint… Andrew Peters and Chima Ferguson getting lubricated for the video.

Legend allert! Eric Dressen and Josh Borden were processing what they just saw during the first showing.

The rest of the Santa Cruz squad was in town too. Eric Winkowski, Tom Asta, and Nick Matlin all enjoyed the flick.

As expected, the crowd was no joke.

J.T. Rhoades and Evan Smith were discussing rocks and the like.

I’m not kidding. Evan had a bunch of rocks in his pockets. He is a child of the earth, I suppose…

Then as fast as he skates, Evan grabbed my camera and snapped J.T. and myself and was so in sync with the cosmic universe that he managed to steal J.T.’s flash.

Sebo Walker must have been buzzing off of what may have been his best part yet.

Then there was a little drama trying to get in.

You can’t kick out the I.C. crew with out a fight… Nico Hiraga and Mikey Alfred smoothed things out and made it inside.

The man with the wrist bands is everybody's best friend. Lakai team manager, Daniel Wheatly, did a superb job making sure all the A-listers made it in.

Holy shit! There was a live taping of The Nine Club going down at the theatre! Chris Roberts and Roger Bagley talk skating and sun burns with the legendary skateboard socialite known simply as Boosh.

Kelly Hart, always over in the corner…

This man has been a part of so much cool shit in skateboarding. Jeron Wilson is a legend!

Banner’s part must be good to roll with a posse like this. Lakai filmer Rye Beres, with new Simon Bannerot and artist Jayme Lemperle.

Good to see that The Civ made it past those frustrated security gaurds. Mikey Alfred and Kevin White were motivating their way to an XL popcorn, because they fucking deserve it.

Not being the types to miss out on the action, Boosh and ETN creative director Erik Bragg needed to get in a Toyota jump while the flashes were still going off.

So this is what it feels like to be in the hot seat. Rye Beres getting grilled by the niners.

Justin Eldridge! Always smiling, always a pleasure.

Rye and Sam have spent a lot of time together at the bottoms of stairs. It’s the easiest way to become bros with someone.

Rick and Sam Smyth are a combo that can’t be beat. These dudes have been ruling for decades!

Mike Carroll was in the middle of an epic speech when…

A drunken manchild rushed the stage to cause trouble.

Rick and Mike took him down with ease. You can’t fuck with the master of horse play.

The rough-housing continued through the rest of the speech. It’s refreshing to see dudes who own skateboard companies getting wild at their parties. We need more of it.

All smiles after the video let out! It was a wild one, and Jesus Fernandez didn’t even break anyone’s fisheye!
