In early 2020, a few wallride ramps were brought to a deserted tennis/ basketball court on Portland State University grounds. We're not totally sure where those came from, but what we do know is that this simple act would lead to a movement beyond any skaters wildest dreams. The space would quickly become a main hub for Portland skateboarding. New boxes, rails, quarterpipes and artist murals popped up weekly. It was a designated meet up/ warm up spot you'd always get stuck at, it hosted many local events and certainly helped foster the next generation of PDX skaters.
Throughout the years, the space was maintained by a small group of skaters. They worked with PSU to create a community space and kept what would be known as "The Courts" going as long as they could.
The space was slotted for demolition in July 2024 to make space for a new Arts and Design building. It was an epic last session but certainly left a void in the Portland skate scene.
Here we are 2 years later and we are extremely proud to support the grand opening of COURTS 2.0!

Countless hours of community meetings, fundraisers and planning have lead to this day. The new space is still on PSU grounds and was designed and planned by skaters for skaters.

Some notable features include a perfect kinked granite ledge, a bump over manhole, and the best bank to wall we've ever skated.

To celebrate, we made some CCS Customs decks and gave them out to anyone that was ripping.

It was a great turnout and the rain gods had mercy on us for the afternoon.

Nick Pelster and Taj Hanson are the backbone and driving force behind the courts. If you see these dudes out there, give them a big hug! Thanks dudes!

Thanks for having us out for the opening and looking forward to many more sessions at the new spot!
