As the name suggests, Enjoi Skateboards are here for fun. With so many skate companies and sponsors out there focusing on competition, its nice to have an organization like Enjoi to remind us why we got into skating in the first place.
The graphics featured on Enjoi skateboards decks and clothing would dissuade anyone from taking their skating too seriously. Featuring cartoon pandas, goofy juxtapositions of famous imagery, and nonsensical phrases seemingly derived from inside jokes, there is no room for the pride or egoism.
More than just a panda graphic, Enjoi was initially created by pro skateboarding legends Marc Johnson and Rodney Mullen. The brand has supported many of the world’s most talented riders over the last 15 years, including Jerry Hsu, Louie Barletta, and Chris Cole.
As loud and attention-grabbing as their image appears, there is something oddly humble about a talent-loaded skateboard brand which chooses to represent itself in a light-hearted and juvenile manner.
Perhaps this is the reason why Enjoi continues to prosper even after fifteen years in the business. Behind all of the contests, video parts, NBD’s, and pro models; behind the Instagram clips, the energy drinks, and the dolla’ dolla’ bills, maybe all skateboarders just want to goof off and have fun with their friends.
