Since Toy Machine opened its doors in 1993, it’s been responsible for some of the most iconic imagery in skateboarding. Founder, Ed Templeton, helped to create an aesthetic of skate advertisements and branding that broke the rules of traditional advertising and design. His use of crude drawings over photography has been imitated within and outside skateboarding’s borders. When the old guard of skateboarding thinks of the "Golden Age" of skateboarding, their minds go back to when skateboarding really started to hit its stride, which just so happens to be when Toy Machine’s third video, Welcome To Hell, dropped. And that’s just Toy Machine’s marketing. It’s team has been host to some of skateboarding’s best and brightest, Elissa Steamer, Brian Anderson, Leo Romero, Axel Cruysberghs, and Colin Provost to name a few. We could go on for a bit, but the most important thing to take away here is that Ed Templeton is at the helm of Toy Machine, and Ed Templeton is a legend. Toy Machine Skateboards showcase Templeton's unique artwork and classic sense of humor.
