Brian Anderson x Nike Sb Apparel capsule drops January 19.

Brian Anderson is an iconic skateboarder, and his BA Signature Capsule is about to drop January 19. On a skateboard, he’s a Cadillac Deville - Big, Powerful, and Classy Smooth. Every skateboarder can appreciate his easy confidence on and off the board.

When asked, most skater's will cite remembering him first in Toy Machine's Welcome to Hell with a bic’d head front blunting Hubba like it was a parking block. His style and approach to skateboarding is unmistakable.

The Nike SB x Brian Anderson Capsule consists of a hockey jersey, Nike Shield Coaches Jacket, sunglasses, a Nike Icon Hoodie, and a pair of BA signature yellow Bruin Hyperfeels. Inspiration for the collection struck when Anderson was sketching in a Seattle coffee shop. He sent the drawing to Nike HQ in Oregon and the apparel collection was underway.

Initially, Anderson had just planned on designing a hockey jersey because he’s always dug the embroidery, patches, and how the boxy style fits his frame. In an interview with Complex, Anderson said once he sent over the Cheetah and cat drawings, Nike creative director, Jesse Leyva, liked the yellow jersey idea so much that he encouraged him to do more. The fit and feel of the jersey were based off a jersey Anderson bought at a concert - its sleeves are more like a regular long sleeve, less baggy than a regular hockey jersey. The jaguar patch was inspired by Anderson’s concept sketch, while the swoosh is hand drawn, “It is a little off kilter and imperfect, which I think is so rad,” said Anderson in the official Nike News write up on the collection.

While the collection was inspired by the jersey, a case could be made that the Yellow limited edition Jaguar Bruin Hyperfeels steal the show. They’re the traditional low-cut Bruin silhouette with a yellow suede upper, flexible Hyperfeel sole, and a Drop-in sockliner with custom BA Jaguar artwork. The Nike Shield Coaches Jacket features the BA inspired Jaguar graphic screen printed on the back and a team captain C on the front. It’s Nike SB’s Coaches Jacket through and through - lightweight, nylon shell, dropped back hem, and snap closure. The Nike SB BA hoodie features a chunky hand drawn logo inspired by 90’s Nike graphics Anderson liked. Rounding out the collection are the yellow sunglasses with a jaguar print on the arms.
