In 1966, Vans was founded by Paul Van Doren and three partners. The rugged make-up and sticky soles of Vans skate shoes appealed to skateboarders, who were seen skating in Vans all over Southern California in the early 1970's. In 1975, the Vans Era was designed by Tony Alva and Stacy Peralta. With a padded collar and different color combinations, the Era became the Vans shoe of choice for a generation of skateboarders. The brand also creates shoes for a number of sports from BMX, to moto-cross, to surfing, as well as women's and kid's shoes. The current Vans skateboarding team consists of such world renowned professional skaters such as Geoff Rowley, Tony Trujillo, Anthony Van Engelen, Ray Barbee, and John Cardiel. In addition to Vans skate shoes, they also offer clothing and accessories, all of which can be found at CCS.
