With a strong DIY ethic and no corporate backing whatsoever, Casey "Eklips" Zolton founded the Seventh Letter in 2000 within greater Los Angeles. Inspired directly from the artistic individuals who collaborate with the Seventh Letter, their apparel is influenced by the likes of graffiti, fine art, tattoo design, sculpture, and music. Far from being strictly an apparel and clothing company, the Seventh Letter is really a platform for crews of artists to showcase their latest talents in the forms of wearable art, exhibitions, and special projects alike.

Renowned artists such as Mister Cartoon, Retna, Revok, Shepard Fairey, Barry McGee, Eric Haze, Chaz Bojorquez, and George "Ewok" Thompson have all contributed to the Seventh Letter Movement. Although focused in Los Angeles, the brands movement is quickly spreading worldwide to the likes of San Francisco, Atlanta, Philadelphia, New York, Chicago, Jersey City, London, Paris, Milan, Naples, Budapest, Tokyo, Cologne, Seoul, and Bangkok.
