Originally the name of Diamond Supply Co. came about when Nick "Diamond" Tershay and co-founder Greg Carroll were cruising around San Francisco's infamous Tenderloin District while listening to the Diamond Life Album by Sade. Conversation ensued about the deplorable conditions of the neighborhood and how Tershay and Carroll wanted to live large like the Diamond lifestyle.

Diamond Supply Co. soon was born on the idea of creating a unique and innovative type of skate hardware. Although this new type of hardware didn't quite work out, Nick Tershay started marketing and selling his clothing and skate accessories out of his one-bedroom San Francisco apartment. Tershay was actively involved within the skateboard community since the '80s, and he was intimately connected to San Francisco's EMB when things were blowin' up in the '90s. With this intimate skate knowledge and connection to pros around the world, he was able to launch an effective and iconic brand that has come to define top notch style within the world of skateboarding.

Since its earliest days, Diamond Supply Co. has moved to LA and represents skating's finest and most talented athletes. Icons within the skate world such as Darrel Stanton and Shane O'Neill show their love for Diamond's extensive supply of quality goods. Diamond even has enabled Torey Pudwill to launch his own grip and apparel brand, Grizzly Griptape, with much success and notoriety.
