In 1977, Jake Burton founded Burton Snowboards. Burton started making snowboards from his garage in Vermont; His inspiration came from the "Snurfer," which was the first snowboard to be marketed. At the time, snowboarding wasn't permitted on the local resorts. Burton promoted snowboarding in a positive light, and in 1982 the Suicide Six ski area in Vermont became the first mountain to accept snowboarders on their mountains and lifts. This led to huge exposure of snowboarding, and soon after, Burton's business began to boom. Burton's pro team is an integral part of its leading role in snowboard production and development. By incorporating the ideas of some of the best names in snowboarding, Burton has stayed on top of the technology game. They boast a solid team of heavy hitters such as Shaun White, Terje Haakonsen, Nicolas Muller, Mikey Rencz, Hannah Teter, Kelly Clark, Kevin Pearce, and much more. CCS proudly carries a large selection of Burton snowboards, bindings, boots, and gear.
